Inertial Effects during the Infiltration of an Elastic Porous Medium

چکیده
This paper deals with the mathematical modeling of the coupled flow/deformation problem characterizing the industrial production of a composite material by injection moulding. The role of inertia, typically non–negligible during a short early time, is studied in terms of models of reduced complexity. Using the theory of characteristics and some considerations on the energy of the system we are able to estimate the time needed by the system to dissipate the oscillatory motion due to abrupt initial conditions.
